Extrinsic or commercial attitudes towards art are often manifested in an approach which is both undesirable and uncritical. Attitudes that are motivated by money, fame, recognition and other external factors can overpower the intrinsic passion underpinning the central motivation to make art.
I bring attention to the production process and the generation of artworks so a focus can be given to its genesis rather than its completion. Production line methods provide the means by which work can be generated through using the labour of others for personal commercial benefit. Documentation of the production of this work is key to the way this is demonstrated and communicated to the audience. Intrinsic enjoyment of the art must be removed.
