I combine traditional oil painting with 2D and 3D computer based artwork to make figurative work. My interest of both traditional art and digital art is within the realms of the realistic, and the mood it can create. From the traditional side, Baroque artists such as Caravaggio and Rembrandt have influenced my painting method and subject, as well as use of light and colour. In computer-based art, the use of POV ray rendering for hyper realistic rendering, and the use of augmented reality and digital installation. The work for translated thoughts takes the idea of the modern and traditional, and the real and virtual into the context of the legend of Zelda, by making a 3D digital painting of princess Zelda. This shows mirrors the game referencing old societies of centuries gone by presented in modern computer games. I intend to take my work further along the lines of morphing the modern and traditional, the real and the virtual.
