As an artist, my aim is to create works that produce a distorted or incomplete outcome, reflecting upon the issue of control and the way it can be so easily shattered and destroyed through life changing events. Issues that have affected me personally such as illness and family hostility are combined with my skills as a gymnast to aid in conveying the emotion and understanding that I wish to provide to the public through my artwork. I mostly use materials that are quite pliable or that can be physically altered through heat or shattering and then moulded or pieced back together to result in an imperfect outcome. Rather that creating a two- dimensional piece of work, I alter the image using numerous mirrors to result in a three- dimensional effect, inviting the viewer to question and explore the ever evolving imagery that surrounds them the deeper they look into the artwork.
