All things rude; swearing, sex, genitals, have always had noses being turned up at them in one way or another. However, the nude figure has been a tradition in art for many centuries; one of the most notable movements to boldly include the nude figure is the Italian Renaissance. I wanted to make the human nude and rudeness the subject of my work, but in humorous and familiar ways. I started working with different sculptural materials and well as the traditional casting methods and photography. Alongside this I have been setting up everyday objects in such a way to suggest the sexual. With the influences of Marc Quinn and Sarah Lucas my work has evolved into the idea of traditionally making a humorous sculpture with implied sexual undertones.
